Polish electronic music artist cyd returns to E-Missions Recordings with their first release of 2023, heralding a new era for the underground label’s catalog. "Only Once" is a 4 track EP rooted in French House, Funk, Italo and Lo-Fi, bringing old school vibes together with modern dance music sensibilities. “Only Once” heralds sunshine indoors - bright daytime vibes, that feeling of eternal summer. The title track “Only Once” grooves and swishes with a nostalgic R&B sample that builds to an infectious piano break. “You Saved My Day” follows in the same vein, moving through a progressive composition that is perfect for peak time hours across international dance floors.

The proverbial flip features a driving remix by fellow Polish compatriots Private Press. Microsampling the original hook, the result is a faster, functional, major key bridge track between funkier flavors of House and dubbier Techno cuts. “Legacy Grooves” stands out as a true B-side, fully fleshed out in Italo-style synths, a French touch bassline, and chunky drum patterns. Hearkening to those late night/early mornings, cyd channels his production methods here to tap into a very contemporary sound.
